Erin ‘Sister Fister’ Donnellon just so happens to be the sister of the captain of the Australian Men’s fistball team – Malcolm ‘Mr Fister’ Donnellon, and is helping to cement the name “Donnellon” in the Australian fistory books. The name can now surely be considered synonymous with the sport of fistball in Australia, not unlike the Waugh brothers or the Chappell brothers for Australian cricket… and like Trevor Chappell, Erin has been known to serve underarm from time to time.
As the oldest member (i.e. the ‘veteran’) of the Possums squad, Sister Fister is usually seen pre-match doing extensive stretching, generally with a hula-hoop in tow. Don’t ask. Relatively new to fistball, Sister Fister has been lured out of retirement after hanging up the boots for competitive sports at the end of her under-15 netball career. A dour defender for the Westside Wombats, Sister Fister has taken to fistball like a duck to water… well maybe not a duck, probably more like a dog.
Voted ‘most likely to miss a match due to a hair disaster’, Sister Fister had to shell out for excess baggage so that she could take an extra suitcase to Brazil just for hair product, in order to maintain her Sideshow Bob-like fro in the Brazilian humidity. She is the team’s resident expert on all things kooky, with her love of crystals and her knowledge of the moon phases, we can all rest easy knowing that mercury retrograde will not be occurring during the tournament.
