It is with great delight that the 2018 APFC committee (in conjunction with the Fistball Federation of Australia) can announce the securement of the Kevin Bartlett Sporting & Rec Complex (specifically, the EJ Bastow Oval) for the upcoming 2018 Asia-Pacific Fistball Championships.
The EJ Bastow Oval is a well-maintained high-quality soccer field in the heart of Burnley, Melbourne, tucked in between Richmond and Hawthorn, and one that is categorised as a ‘Category A’ sports field by the Yarra Council. With excellent grass, a quality pavilion and floodlight facilities opening up the possibility of night games, we hope it will raise the bar for international fistball tournaments in the Asia-Pacific region.
A short 20 minute drive from the Melbourne CBD, the facilities can also be accessed by train (Alamein, Belgrave, Lilydale or Glen Waverley lines) or tram (Route 70), hopefully making it easy for any casual or dedicated supporters to access the event.
Currently the home of the Richmond Soccer Club, it will temporarily be the home of the Asia-Pacific Fistball Championships, come November 2018.
